Is anyone else with a comparable CPU/GPU able to emulate this game in OpenGL in PCSX2, or at least in DX11 with no slowdown anywhere? I feel like I must be doing something wrong here - I see a ton of people saying that they played the game from start to finish with OpenGL, and I just don't think that there is a CPU out there with enough extra power over the one I have to take it from the performance I am seeing to something playable. I have tried dropping the resolution from 6x to 2x, enabling and disabling speed hacks (MTVU, EE cycle rate), and disabling the 60fps hack but none of this seems to help. Most areas have significant slowdown, and GS is pegged near 100% most of the time. OpenGL looks perfect, but the performance is just dog slow. I was able to install the 60fps hack and get it running pretty well in DX11, and this MOSTLY works, but the game is still missing a ton of effects, and there are black blotches all over the place in the forest areas, and even in DX11, it still slows down quite a bit in places (whenever the hornets come out, the swamps, etc). I've also done the same for the rest of the series (all on the PCSX2 60fps patch forum). ![]() I won't get into too many boring details over it. I have spent a few days trying to port it over to the pc version as well to no avail, unfortunately. The latest 1.6, however, does treat my quite a bit more nicely. 60 FPS PATCH (PCSX2) Hello all I've recently made a 60fps patch for this game on the PS2. I had previously tried to run this game in the old 1.4 build, but never had much luck. Unless I am missing something here, it seems like I just don't have a powerful enough rig to emulate the PS3 version yet, so I went back to PCSX2. I used the custom build, and did everything I could to optimize the settings, but I was unable to get more than ~25 fps at the very beginning area, and I know from experience trying to emulate this game in the past that it gets much worse from there. The only way I can interpret 'adding' is to duplicate all of those also for 60fps patches, which, TBH, will be a bit of a PITA. The zip is a curated (by Devina) set of patches which we periodically clean a bit and then add to the repo to be distributed with PCSX2. ![]() The first thing I wanted to try was emulating the HD edition in RPCS3. Support for loading patches from cheatsws.zip. First, my system specs: i7 6700k 4.4GHz, GeForce 980 Ti, 32 GB RAM, Windows 10.
